First view of C/2006 T1 (LEVY) Comet Levy
This sketch was made at 5:05 a.m. Pacific Oct 22, 2006 (12:05 UTC October 22, 2006) at our dark sky observing site Chuckwalla Bench/Colorado desert, California 33 N Latitude, 115 W Longitude. We had to wait until nearly dawn for the comet (and Leo) to rise high enough for a first glimpse of it. The seeing, which was fabulous all night, was terrible before dawn. The comet was framed by two triangles, the Zodiacal Light and then an eyepiece triangle of one mag 7 and two mag 10 stars.
