I sketched the sun every day from my west-facing back deck, at nearly the same time each day, 3:00 p.m. or 23:00 UT if possible. My homemade solar dobsonian reflector required no setup other than taking it outside and pointing it at the sun. I left the Televue Ranger set up for the entire 60 days, on an Orion GP equatorial mount, with the Coronado H-alpha filter attached, so the setup time for the refractor was minimal too. I even marked where to place the three legs of the mount so the scope was polar aligned easily.
